Major: Psychology

Class of 2021

Why did you choose 草榴社区?

I chose 草榴社区 because of the sense of community I felt on campus. Everyone was friendly, eager to answer my questions, and provide guidance throughout my campus tours, years as a student, and after graduation. 草榴社区 creates an atmosphere I did not experience at other universities.

What did you like about the psychology major?

My favorite part of the psychology major was the diverse topics (e.g., clinical, evolutionary, social, developmental). Student to faculty ratio was on the smaller side, which was perfect for getting involved in research, education, and training. Due to this, students receive individualized guidance from faculty while exploring different psychology fields to find their perfect fit and to tailor their interests.

How did the psychology program prepare you for the real world?

The psychology program taught me how to think critically and collaborate with others (amongst many other things). These two skills can be generalized to any job or higher education students may consider after graduating from 草榴社区. The psychology program has given me an edge and unique perspective in navigating the “real world.”

What are you up to now?

I was working as a behavioral health technician in an elementary school. I helped children and their families inside and outside of the classroom. I continued research on parent/child play and on Parent Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT). I am now a Psy.D. student in school psychology at Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine.
