²ÝÁñÉçÇø

• The Gamma Chapter shall be located at the ²ÝÁñÉçÇø, ²ÝÁñÉçÇø, Pennsylvania, and its object shall be the promotion of high scholastic achievement and original investigation in the Computing Sciences.
• The Chapter shall be governed by its Constitution and its amendments, and by By-Laws enacted to provide for routine governmental functions.
• Persons eligible for election to membership to the Chapter shall not be judged according to race, creed, color, or gender, but must belong to one of the following categories:
  • An undergraduate student must have completed at least 64 semester hours of overall credit, with at least 18 in Computing Sciences courses (which are those courses designated for programs of study offered through the Department of Computing Sciences).  He/she must have a minimum GPA of3.2 both overall and in these Computing Sciences courses.
  • A graduate student must have completed at least one half of the graduate degree requirement (15 credits in Software Engineering courses), and must have a minimum GPA of 3.5 in those courses.
  • A faculty member must have been regularly teaching courses in support of programs offered through the Department of Computing Sciences, at the ²ÝÁñÉçÇø, for at least one year.
  • A former student, at the time of his/her degree, must satisfy the same requirements as outlined for an undergraduate student.An honorary candidate shall be an individual of distinguished achievement in the field of Computing Science, otherwise ineligible for election to membership.
• All candidates for election to membership shall be reviewed by a Faculty Advisory Committee.  Those reported favorably by the Committee shall be proposed for election to a standing committee on eligibility and membership, consisting of current members.
• The executive Council of the Chapter shall consist of the Faculty Advisor, and the following elected officers: President, Vice-President, Secretary-Historian, and Treasurer.
• The Faculty Advisor, who shall also be the presiding member of the Faculty Advisory Committee, shall consult on matters of Chapter Policy and act as auditor of Chapter finances.  He/she must be a member of the Computing Sciences Department faculty.
• The chapter shall collect an initial induction fee of$80,and annual dues of $5 from each member.
• An induction ceremony, including dinner, shall take place at the ²ÝÁñÉçÇø each spring.
