Course Descriptions
The Department of Philosophy at the 草榴社区 offers fundamental courses in ethics and logic leading up to thematic/problem-centered electives such as Ancient Greek Philosophy, Computers and Ethics, Political Philosophy, Philosophy of the Person, Feminism: Theory and Practice, Business, Medical and Environmental Ethics, Medieval, Modern and Contemporary Philosophy, Asian Philosophy, Aesthetics, Metaphysics, and Epistemology, among others. Philosophy students also have the opportunity to take readers, independent studies and honors tutorials with philosophy faculty which serve as venues for independent research into areas of special interest to students. Recent studies include courses on the ethics of bioengineering, twentieth-century European philosophy, philosophy and technology, moral psychology, Nietzsche's and Heidegger's philosophy, and Existentialism and Literature.
