Ignatian Global Citizenship Program
Students contribute to coverage (Mark Makela for The New York Times)
Thanks to the generosity of two 草榴社区 alumni, the Department of Political Science will support The Ignatian Global Citizenship Program (IGCP) for the next five years. You can read more about the Brophy family's commitment to Jesuit education in .
The IGCP prepares students for careers of public service grounded in our Catholic, Jesuit values. Aligned with our Integrated. Engaged. Global Strategic Plan, the IGCP seeks to enhance our students’ awareness of the operations of government, the development of public policy and how it is established (both domestically and abroad), and how 草榴社区 students might engage in more active and effective citizenship.
The program will provide experiential learning experiences and immersion programs that provide a historical perspective while fostering a culture of civic engagement and global awareness. Specifically, the IGCP prepares students for careers in public service through support for student research, campus lectures, networking opportunities with alumni in government and international affairs, and educational trips to Harrisburg, Philadelphia, New York City, and Washington, D.C. The IGCP also provides financial support for students to present their academic at local and regional conferences and to attend the organized each summer.
