Compliance
The purpose of the compliance review committees are to review and approve all relevant proposals to ensure that they are in compliance with University, local, state, federal, and funding agency regulations for research. All investigators --faculty, professional and scientific staff, undergraduate and graduate students-- with either internal or external funding, must obtain approval from the appropriate research compliance review committee(s) before initiating any work on the project and before the Office of Research and Sponsored Programs (ORSP) will process the award.

Animals - Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee (IACUC)
All activities involving the use of live vertebrate animals must be approved by the IACUC prior to the use of the animals in research or teaching activities. Research activities include field studies, the use of blood donor animals, and breeding colonies. See IACUC page for further information.
Biohazards - Institutional Biosafety Committee (IBC)
The IBC must approve any teaching or research project that involves: the use of recombinant DNA, including transgenic animals or plants; the use of human, animal, or plant pathogens (e.g., bacteria, viruses, prior, parasites); and the use of any human cells, tissues or body fluids. Radiation - Radiation Safety Committee (RSC)
