CMS Resources, Training & Support
The Office of Marketing Communications manages the official pages of the University website, as well as the site's content management system. Official pages are those linked to University branding, recruitment and promotion. Our web content strategist works with departments across campus to develop and maintain the content on their pages.
What Is The CMS?
The web content management system (also known as the Web CMS) is a collection of tools that allow people without any formal web design training to create and edit pages on the University's website.
Our web developer oversees the system and creates editing and design features and templates.
Training and Support
The Marketing Communications team handles all training and support for the CMS. We offer training sessions periodically throughout the year and upon request.
The CMS Service Desk
The latest addition to the system is the CMS Service Desk, a ticketing platform where users can request help with CMS problems and also ask for training.
Once you access the Service Desk, you'll be able to choose from a menu of different types of support requests and follow the directions for submitting a ticket. There is also a menu for urgent requests, such as a broken link or a web page not functioning properly.
You will receive an email notification that your ticket has been submitted. Additional email updates will follow as we work on your request.
The CMS Knowledge Base
Before you submit a support ticket, you might be able to find an answer to your CMS issue by searching the CMS Knowledge Base. It's a collection of articles on how to use the CMS. Think of it as your instruction manual.
You can browse by topic or type in keywords to search for articles.
Web Projects
We also work with departments on a variety of custom web projects, including:
- Custom webpages/websites
- Email banners and design
- Custom programming for special web projects
- Graphics for use on the web
